Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper To Join SNL's 40th Anniversary Episode

In a report released by Deadline, it has been revealed that Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone will be joining the guest list for NBC's Saturday Night Live's 40th Anniversary Special, which will air on Sunday, February 15. Other A-list celebrities who are included in the cast are Edward Norton and Billy Crystal.

For the three and a half hour special episode this Valentine's weekend, celebrities who have confirmed to join the cast of SNL are Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Alec Baldwin, Robert De Niro, Jimmy Fallon, James Franco, Zach Galifianakis, Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Bill Hader, Tom Hanks, Chris Rock, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Christopher Walken, Betty White, Chevy Chase, Dana Carvey, Miley Cyrus, Will Forte, Jon Hamm, Derek Jeter, Paul McCartney, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Paul Simon and Taylor Swift. 

For the special anniversary episode, present cast members, as well as past members and musical guests who have guested on the show will appear on the telecast. As for the specific lineup, it will be decided upon in the upcoming months.

Saturday Night Live, which was created by Lorne Michaels and developed by Dick Ebersol is an American late-night television sketch comedy show and according to NBC Entertainment chairman, Robert Greenblatt, "an institution unlike anything else in television history." 

"The many brilliant 'Not Ready for Primetime Players' over the years is a who's who of film and television comedy for the last two generations," he adds that this is just one of the ways in which SNL, which is one of the most top-rated comedy shows on television today, plans to celebrate its special 40th year.

"Saturday Night Live" is one of the longest running shows in television history and has since won 40 Emmy Awards. Not only has the show won the most awards for any television show, but it is also the most nominated in Emmy history with 171 nominations. SNL has also been given the coveted George Foster Peabody Award twice, one in 1990 and another in 2009.
