The Industrial Designers Society of America, also known as IDSA, held its International Design Excellence Awards. IDSA responded to the question ‘What were the best and ingenious design of 2014?’ with the names of 176 winners from their 23 categories.

Categories range from Commercial and Industrial Products to Outdoor Products to Social Design Impact and a lot more. IDSA picked the 2014 winners by using four categories: Finalists, Bronze, Silver, and, Gold. The panelists for the awards are design experts affiliated with the Industrial Design Society of America.

The LBR iiwa Robot
“LBR” is a German word for, “Leichtbauroboter”, lightweight robot and “iiwa” stands for intelligent industrial work assistant. Brooks, creator of C17 Cambium Saddle, uses materials like organic cotton, vulcanized natural rubber, and structural textile. The saddle is waterproof as well.
