Disney made two huge announcements on Sunday regarding the latest installment of the popular science-fiction film Star Wars.

First, two new members of the cast added to "Star Wars: Episode VII" include British actor Pip Andersen and American actress Crystal Clarke chosen from about 67,000 hopefuls who auditioned for a role in the epic saga.

The two relatively unknown artists were cast by Disney together with Lucasfilm in their course to 'discovering and nurturing young talent' which was a Star Wars universe tradition, said Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

Though their roles have not been revealed, Disney did announce a casting-call in November for the two characters 'Rachel' and 'Thomas.'

The notice described the actors needed for said roles, stating that the actress needed for the character should be a "street smart, athletic, natural beauty" 17 to 18 year-old female while the actor should be a "handsome, smart and athletic" 19 to 23 year-old male.

Clarke is studying drama in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow while Andersen displayed his extraordinary free running agility skills in a Sony advertisement for Spiderman.

Meanwhile, an announcement in the Star Wars website was posted regarding the pause of filming of the well-anticipated movie for two weeks in August as Harrison Ford recovers from a broken leg he obtained after falling on set in June at Pinewood Studios.

According to reports, the 71-year-old actor is recovering well, but production will be put on a halt "while adjustments to the current schedule are being made."

However, "Star Wars: Episode VII" is still on track for its Christmas release on December 18, 2015.
