Woolf, who stars by 4 feet and 4 inches, was struck in the head and was immediately brought to the hospital.

The motorist, who stopped at the scene, was neither issued a ticket nor arrested because Ben was jaywalking when he met the accident, police said.

"Ben is one of the kindest and hardest-working people I know," a statement by publicist Zack Teperman said in an email sent to The Associated Press.

The statement also said that Woolf is still in critical condition and "we ask that everyone please keep Ben in your thoughts and prayers, and respect his family's privacy during this time."

Born as Benjamin Woolf, he also appeared in a handful of films, including Dead Kansas (2013), Woggie (2012) and TV Face (2007).

Ben, who was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism at a young age, reason why his bones shrink, considers himself a fulltime preschool teacher and acting only as his side job.
