Dubbed as the most ambitious entry into live entertainment, this superhero caper will debut in Tampa on July 10 and will reach New York by August, Reuters reported on Sunday.

Marvel Universe LIVE! will present an original story, bringing more than 25 characters together into one grand adventure outlined around the fight over the Cosmic Cube that has been broken into pieces by Thor to prevent the bad guys to use it. However, Thor's ever so sneaky brother Loki works out a scheme to replicate its powers that poses a threat that could annihilate the universe.

The story, presented through action-packed scenes weaved together by the stunts coordinator of "The Amazing Spider-Man" movies, will feature car flips, racing motorcycles and a bad guy ablaze.

The idea of a live show came from Florida-based company Feld Entertainment which produced the famed "Disney On Ice" and "Disney Live" shows during Feld's three-decade relationship with Disney.

The cast composed of over 50 performers was completed from selections from the world of martial arts, aerial performers and stunt teams from the professional snow skater and X games champion Phil Smage who plays Captain America, to martial arts expert and AAU Junior Olympics National Champion Kirk Jenkins playing Wolverine. Also part of the cast is 2012 X Games silver-medalist Louise Forsley as the Black Widow.

The tour is anticipated to continue to Canada and the United Kingdom, though schedules are still to be announced. While suitable for all ages, the show particularly targets 5 to 12 year-old boys.
