The National Basketball Association's (NBA) Chicago Bulls will be continuing their season without superstar Derrick Rose once again as an MRI confirmed a the player's torn medical meniscus.

No timetable has been set for Rose's return.

Last Monday, Rose had been reporting a pain in his knee. When he underwent an MRI, it showed that there was a tear in the meniscus in his right knee.

This injury was the same one that Rose had treated with a surgery in 2013.

It is set to be his third knee surgery since 2012. The list includes a torn ACL he suffered in his left knee during the 2012 playoffs.

The misfortunes of Rose and his knee have not stopped mounting ever since he initially hurt his knee in the 2011-2012 playoff game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Since then, Rose had missed the whole 2012-13 NBA season before returning last year.

The return though was short-lived as the meniscus in his right knee was torn in November. He only appeared in 10 games.

This season, Rose battled smaller injuries that were not enough to keep him out until his knee was examined. He played 46 out of 57 games that Chicago had.

While the projected timetables for a meniscus tear injury can be as little as six weeks, it would ultimately depend on the type of surgery that Rose will undergo. Therefore, it is hard to estimate exactly how long Rose will be out.

Last season, he had his meniscus repaired. However, removing instead of repairing again could shorten the recovery time.

The only downside on the matter is that it may prove unfavorable in the long run.

With Rose relegated to the sidelines once again, the Bulls will likely need to depend on Jimmy Butler, Kirk Hinrich, Aaron Brooks, and E'Twaun Moore at the point guard position.
