Devices running Apple's iOS can now be used as monitoring cameras that secure your house or office by using a special app.

Manything, a cloud-based video monitoring application, has just released a new version of the app. The app is now more functional and has its own IFTTT channel that will enable users to create their own automated rules-based video recordings.

The new version allows the user to adjust motion sensitivity, specify motion detection zones, and view live-stream or recorded motions from an iPhone. There are indicated highlight moments on the video which can be used to watch the recordings either on live-streams or replays.

An app user can receive an urgent notification if there's someone breaking into his house. The app gives an immediate signal to call the police.

Manything's previous version was useful only for capturing images. The footage could only be watched using a browser.

James West, founder and CEO of Manything, said that they spent US$1.7 million in two years to develop the best video monitoring application.

The company is also planning to provide remote control for the app and will allow users to share video footages using email, Twitter, or Facebook. Manything's current functionality owes to the IFTTT channel which provides versatility.

Manything has free 30-day trial but after the free plan, the users can continue it by paying US$8.55 per month. It includes seven days of storing footage from two active devices. Users can also pay US$25.67 per month for a full 30 days of recordings that can be used in up to five devices.
