Hollywood Superstar George Clooney may need to convert to Islam to be able to marry Amal, says Baria Alamuddin, Clooney's future mother-in-law.

The Ocean's Eleven star popped the question to his fiancée, British high-profile human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin more than two months ago and are set to marry in September but reports say Amal's mother is 'unimpressed' saying that her daughter "should marry within strict Lebanese religious sect."

The soon-to-be Mrs. Clooney belongs to an Orthodox Lebanese Druze family. Druze compose five percent of Lebanon and around a million worldwide - a group that is slowly shrinking because only people born with both parents who are members of the sect, that is, one cannot convert to be Druze.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, a Lebanese Alamuddin family friend shares how Baria tells half of Beirut that she thinks "Amal could do better," explaining that there can be harsh consequences for Druze who marry outside of their sect.

According to reports, several women have been killed for 'disobeying' the rules of the sect, and a man even literally lost his genitals to his wife's relatives because he married a Druze woman defying her family's wishes by marrying an outsider.

In other reports, photos of the couple's mothers were posted on websites as they walk arm-in-arm in the streets of the small Italian town near Clooney's villa where the soon-to-be-bride's parents were reported 'won over.'

Meanwhile, rumors are spreading about the 'real reason' behind the sudden engagement of the two. In an article published on Tuesday, Albawaba Entertainment states that Amal is three months pregnant with George Clooney's baby as confirmed by a purported close friend of George's.

"George and Amal told their families and closest friends three weeks ago, but now they're sharing the happy news freely, so I feel like it's OK to talk about it," the unnamed source told Woman's Day.

According to the website, confirmation of the news can be expected within a couple of days.
