Hollywood, United States

Asked about what drove Robin Williams to commit suicide, Robin's daughter Zelda Williams revealed that it's a mystery that she will never attempt to solve.

In an interview with "Today," she said that there is no point in trying to figure out why because it's already been done.

This is the first time that Zelda spoke in public after his award-winning dad killed himself in August of last year. She revealed that while she is still not over the loss of his dad, she has fought the urge and impulse to encumber herself with endless questions about why he committed suicide.

Zelda told Kate Snow that there are people who have gone through similar experiences that later on learned that there is no point questioning it, as well as blaming anybody else, "yourself or the world."

She said that while it happened, it is important to move on and "continue to live, and manage."

And though she continues to appreciate the support and encouragement that her dad's fans showed her after his death, she explained that her dad was a different person at home and had a different personality compared to the comic presence he exhibited on screen.

Zelda explained, "It's not to say people didn't know dad. They knew a dad that he was proud of them knowing, because he was an incredibly kind and incredibly caring man." But said that he can also be very subdued and private. Although she reassured fans that the side of Robbie that they knew and loved were characters that her dad really enjoyed playing.

Zelda went on to say that she finds it lovely when people express their condolences, but also finds it's nice to have their private life, private.

The 25-year old's comments about her dad come after a dispute with his widow Susan Schneider Williams over his trust.

Robin's third wife claims that Robbie wanted Zelda, and brothers 23-year old Cody and 31-year old Zack to only get their own shares in the contents of their estate situated in Napa, California, not including their father's personal belongings such as clothing, memorabilia, jewelry and awards.

Susan's claim has reportedly left the kids feeling "heartbroken," though Zelda did not say a word about the issue.

Zelda is scheduled to present an award in her dad's honor to the Challenged Athlete Foundation on Friday. The foundation, which offers prosthetics to disabled athletes, is a charity, Robbie has long worked with.

"I think a lot of people feel his absence," Zelda said and continued, "For me, especially, it is going to take a lot of work to allow myself to have the sort of fun happy life that I had."
