Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is a frequent target of criticisms in political forums.

The harsh statements usually come from those who may challenge her bid to become the country's first female president.

One of the recent personalities who tried to stir controversies against Clinton is former technology executive Carly Fiorina.

Fiorina is a former Hewlett-Packard Chief Executive Officer, who is seen as the only woman considering a Republican presidential bid.

In her speech at the forum organized by the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC, Fiorina said Clinton should explain and provide justification for the millions of dollars that foreign governments donate to her family's foundation.

"She tweets about women's rights in this country then takes money from governments that deny women the most basic rights," Fiorina chided.

She also noted, "Hillary likes hashtags, but she doesn't know what leadership means."

Fiorina is referring to the Clinton Foundation built by former U.S. President Bill Clinton more than a decade ago.

The foundation is involved in the battle against the HIV and AIDS in Africa, in educating millions of children, as well as in feeding the poor and the country around the world.

Mrs. Clinton is a member of the group's board of directors.

The foundation has been defending its financial support for a long time now.

It has also addressed questions on what will happen to it, should Clinton finally win the democratic nomination to run for president.

Switching from the topic on the Clinton Foundation, Fiorina moved on and questioned Clinton's achievements as former Secretary of State.

She said, "like Mrs. Clinton, I too have travelled the globe. But unlike Mrs. Clinton, I know that flying is an activity, not an accomplishment."

Coming to the defense of Clinton, Adrienne Elrod, the spokesperson for a pro-Clinton group called 'Correct The Record,' replied, "Carly Fiorina only wishes she had Hilary's long list of accomplishments."

Elrod said Clinton has come a long way in her campaign to protect children and families, by putting in place policies that help Americans reach their potential, regardless of their economic circumstances."

Fiorina, who is also the chairperson of the American Conservative Union Foundation, ran and lost her Senate bid in California in 2010.

CPAC's annual conference invites more than a dozen speakers who have the potential to become Republican presidential contender.

Presidential aspirants speak at the conference, hoping to get the support of Republican conservative activists.
