It is official, Archie Andrews is set to die in "Life with Archie" issue No. 36. His death is very much likely what his character would have done just to save a friend.

The freckled face we have come to love is set to die during an assassination attempt of Kevin Keller. Keller is the comic book's first openly gay character in the series. Keller is said to have been pushing on imposing gun control in Riverdale. He was first introduced in 2010 and wanted to have gun control imposed because his husband died while involved in a shooting.

Chris Cummins who is a writer in the comic culture says that this is a perfect tribute for Archie because he has always put his friends first. This is definitely a spoiler alert for Archie's fans which is undeniably a sad one.

Co-CEO Jon Goldwater of Archie comics says that they wanted to capture the attention of the readers to show the heroic nature of Archie who has been in the books since 1941.

"He's willing to literally die to save his friend, Kevin. Archie would have died to save any of his friends. I think Archie would've even died to save a stranger." Goldwater emphasized.

The death of a well-loved character gives light to issues regarding gun violence and the declaration of diversity in the said comics.

Archie is not like any other superhero yet he did something heroic. Goldwater says that through this, we learn from what violence can do and that one heroic act can change everything.

One writer who follows the comic book industry named Andrew Wheeler commended how Archie will be killed from the series. He wrote: "Archie's sacrifice isn't just a moment of heroism; it offers an unambiguous condemnation of America's lax gun laws... It's not surprising to see Archie Comics tackling such a serious issue."

On a lighter note, "Life with Archie issue" No. 37 will be detailing how his pals have grown to be after a year of Archie's passing. They have said that Archie will not be totally deleted from the comic book since his character will continue to live on other Archie Comics series.
