Shazam has made music playback easier and smoother for premium users of Rdio.

Shazam, a commercial music identification service, has made updates to its iOS that allow Rdio premium users to play music using their app.

The music identification service has been using Rdio for song playback but requires launching the Rdio app when users want to listen to the entire song.

The changes allow Rdio unlimited subscribers (US$14.99 monthly) to play and fully listen to the chosen track without leaving the Shazam app.

It will also incorporate a playlist of Rdio subscribers. Shazam will automatically add tracks to "Your Shazamed Tracks" playlist. Users have the option to add the tracks to different Rdio playlists using Shazam.

Daniel Danker, Chief Product Officer of Shazam, said that using Shazam is only the start of a listener's experience.

“Now, in partnership with Rdio, fans can listen to the music they discover without even leaving the app, making Shazam a terrific place to enjoy great music," he added.

Updated Shazam app also enhances its integration with Facebook for easier sharing of songs.

The company also mentioned its plan to add support for more streaming services in the next few weeks but didn't disclose which ones.

It also gives users the option of listening to Spotify, whose subscribers can also listen to a full track soon.

The Shazam update will roll out later this week.
