Capcom might have inadvertently revealed the release date for the upcoming "Street Fighter 5."

In a blog site that promotes Capcom merchandise at Pax East located at Boston, Massachusetts, a post casually mentioned the release of Street Fighter 5 will be the spring of 2016.  Several news outlets reprinted the blog post.

A section of the blog reads, "Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter V coming to the PS 4 and PC next spring."

The reference to the release date was later removed from the blog and there's no explanation from Capcom about the removal of the Street Fighter launch date.

A representative from Capcom clarified that the 2016 spring release date is merely tentative and that no official launch date has been set by Capcom.

It's been reported that both Amazon and Best Buy have listed on their sites the unofficial launch date of Street Fighter 5 is March 31, 2016.

It will be recalled that in December 2014, Capcom issued a statement saying the fifth installment of Street Fighter will only be released for the PC and PS 4 platform.

Capcom also said the beta run for Street Fighter 5 is being planned and claims it will be the "largest and most ambitious" in the history of the Street Fighter franchise.

No official date has been set either for the beta run. Players that have preordered the "SF V" game are likely to be granted access to the beta version, however.

In a video trailer of the upcoming Street Fighter 5, several characters have been revealed.  Among them is Charlie, who has no problem defeating Chun-Li and Ryu with his evidently new and deadly moves. Arch villain M. Bison is also likely to return in Street Fighter 5.
