There's a bug in the "Helldivers" game that'll wipe out all your saved progress and revert your character to level one if the battery on your controller dies while you're playing.

This bug seems to be affecting mostly PS 4 consoles. But judging by numerous postings in PlayStation forums, there are other bugs in the game that affect the PS 4 and PS 3 consoles, as well as the handheld PS Vita.

Helldivers game developer Arrowhead admitted the existence of the bug plus a few more problems with the game.

In a Helldivers sub-reddit announcement posted a few days ago, Arrowhead said it plans to fix the bugs by issuing a 1.03 patch. The developer didn't mention any specific date on when the much needed update will be released, however.

Meanwhile, Arrowhead has issued some tips on how to get around the bug.

The developer said players should fully charge their controllers. Players are warned not to switch controllers in case the battery runs low but instead connect to a power cable.

Once a player has placed his character on the bridge and has saved the game, only then can a player switch to another controller.

In case power in the controller runs out, players can restart the game without saving.

This will cause the game to download the saved progress from the cloud. Arrowhead thinks this will alleviate the bug problem. This solution, however, isn't applicable if the player saved his progress since he reset.

Helldivers is a game that can be cross played and cross saved in PS 4, PS 3 and PS Vita.  In the game, you play the role of a "Super Earth" citizen that joins the Helldivers elite commando group that travels to distant worlds to battle aliens.
