Video Purportedly Shows Missing UK Teens At Turkey-Syria Border

(Photo : Reuters) British teenage girls Shamima Begun, Amira Abase and Kadiza Sultana walk through security at Gatwick Airport before they boarded a flight to Turkey. It is believed they aim to start a new life with Islamic State in Syria.

Turkish TV network A Haber released a video Friday, purportedly showing three British schoolgirls preparing to cross the Turkish border into Syria.

The video, showed three warmly dressed girls, all resemble the missing British teens.  They were standing beside a yellow car talking to a man who was helping them with their luggage.

At some point in the video, the face of the man and the girls were clearly seen and conversation was audible.

"Put your bags. ... Hurry, don't stop here," the man said in the video.

The girls were wearing coats, two with fur-lined hoods covering their heads. The third wore a hijab.

If the video would be proven authentic, it would have been the first time the girls are seen at the Turkey-Syria border before finally reaching Syria to join the ISIS.

The footage was believed to have been recorded on February 17th in the southeastern Turkish city of Gaziantep, just north of Aleppo, Syria.

The vehicle's license plate indicates that it was registered in Gaziantep.  It is still unclear though, how Turkish network A Haber obtained the video.

The video comes  a day after  Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Thursday that a spy had been detained on suspicion the person helped the three British girls travel to Syria.  He further said that the spy was working for the intelligence of one country which was part of the U.S.-led coalition against the ISIS.

Without naming the country, Cavusoglu said it wasn't the United States nor a member of the European Union.

Earlier this month another video was released showing the British girls in a bus station in Istanbul after arriving from London.

It takes more than 500 miles to reach Gaziantep from southeast of Istanbul which could take long hours.

Authorities believe the girls have already crossed into Syria, parts of which have already been taken over by the ISIS
