'Dancing With The Stars' Karina Smirnoff Breaks Engagement For The Third Time

Karina Smirnoff, the professional dancer who gained popularity from the show "Dancing With The Stars" has broken off her engagement for the third time.

According to FoxNews, the writer of "We're Not Just In To You: Dating Disasters From The Trenches" had a different lifestyle with her fiancé which caused them to break off the engagement and go on with their separate lives. A source said that Jason Adelman became more and more uncomfortable with her flirty nature. However, despite the provocative nature of "DWTS," Smirnoff was never rumored to have cheated.

The speculations about her lifestyle have been greatly denounced by Smirnoff's camp saying, "By generalizing her as a flirt is disrespectful and insulting to the entire dance community at large. It is nothing less than an attempted smear campaign of a malicious person." This will be the third engagement she has broken off after being once engaged to fellow "DWTS" dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy in December of 2008 and Major League Baseball pitcher Brad Penny in 2011.

Smirnoff, 37, accepted Adelman's proposal after less than a year of meeting. According to PEOPLE, she made her announcement last year not to join this year's "DWTS" to give way for more interesting opportunities for herself.

In her book, Smirnoff collaborated with her friends in putting into writing their dating experiences, especially those that failed to materialize or even impress them. Although there was never any mentioning of the names of the guys they have dated, some notable celebrities that may have played a part in the book include Owen Wilson and Mario Lopez.

In her interview with PEOPLE, she said, "It's not about calling anyone out, it's literally looking at dates from a positive perspective. You need to be able to laugh at yourself, and then you will enjoy the dating process that much more."
