Microsoft Shows Windows 10 Preview Minus the Spartan Browser

Microsoft recently released an official preview of Windows 10. Unfortunately, the preview didn't include the successor to the Internet Explorer -- the Spartan browser.

Windows earlier promised to include a test version of the new Spartan browser in the preview. It seems Microsoft spoke too soon.

A glimpse of the Spartan browser would have been the highlight of the Windows 10 preview.  Microsoft later announced it will include Spartan in the next build preview of Windows 10.

Meanwhile, the Windows 10 preview did present some minor improvements over the last build.  For instance, the Start Menu now sports a transparent look. The applications' appearances have been modified and a user's ability to organize the apps, drag and drop them have improved somewhat.

The ability to drag and drop items from one desktop to another is now possible in Windows 10 due to its virtual desktop feature.

Microsoft introduced Cortana in previous builds.  Unfortunately, Cortana was then only available in the U.S.. This time, Cortana will be made available to European countries such as France, Italy, Spain and the UK. Asian countries like China will also receive Cortana.

Microsoft is tinkering with the network user interface to enable faster connections with Wi-Fi networks. OneDrive photos will now have keyboard shortcuts for easier navigation, format support for RAW and Live Tile.

Windows Insider program manager Gabe Aul clarified the recently leaked Windows 10 build "was a candidate" for public release but was plagued by bugs. He said they decided to release the current build 10041 since it resolves all the bugs troubling the leaked build.

Microsoft promised to release a Windows 10 build at "least every month" but there's a possibility it can release more than one preview build in one month.
