Japanese Manga 'Attack on Titan' to be Shown on the Big Screen

Japanese Manga "Attack on Titan' has now become a live action movie

It seems they started film production in 2011 and the movie is set to be released this summer in Japan.

A sneak preview of the film has been made available. Click here to watch.

The preview runs for at least 30 seconds. The Titans were shown for a brief moment just enough to arouse the viewers' curiosity. The human characters were also introduced.

Viewers will see a very short glimpse of Titan's chest as it holds a struggling humans, suggesting Titan is about to eat the humans. In the final scenes of the preview, another Titan covered by smoke appears behind some buildings. 

The rest of the scene focuses on the chaos the Titans created and the people that will have to face these human eating giants. The trailer is short but the idea is to pique your interest in the upcoming movie.

Attack on Titan is set in a world where giants hunt and eat people for food.  The skinless giants are called Titans. To protect themselves, humans set up huge walls around their cities to prevent the Titans from entering.

The live action movie was written by Hajime Isayama, the original creator of the manga version of Attack on Titan.  Tomohiro Machiyama is the screenwriter for this upcoming film. Yusuke Watanabe the director of "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods" is directing the Titan movie.

In 2009, Attack on Titan first appeared as a manga comic book.  Later on, it was released in novels and video games. 

An animated series also appeared on Netflix. It was announced the second series will begin on Netflix by 2016.
