Resogun is a side or horizontal scroll shooter developed by XDEV. Last month, the developer released a DLC pack that features two new modes called Protector and Commando. Players will receive new ships as well as new planets from the Defenders DLC.

Protector mode is set to a more difficult setting than the standard mode. It offers players faster upgrades but players often die after being hit once in this mode.

Players will have to defend the last house standing on the planet in Commando mode while making a bad impression of Arnold Schwarzenegger and you don't have a ship.

On the ground, you fire at enemies attacking your home from the sky while making some famous comments. It's funny but don't let that distract you. The house can take a few hits but if you get hit, it's over and there are no continue options in commando mode.

Even if you're grounded, you still have some abilities as a pilot such as speed boost and bombs.  You also have the ability to jump,, which can be very handy when you face attacking enemy ground forces.

As long as you have the correct analog stick, your character can fire in multiple directions.  Many players think spaceship combat seems more fun than knocking out enemies from the ground, however.

In Protector Mode, you fly a spaceship to wipe out waves of enemy spaceships while rescuing people trapped on the ground. You can quickly get upgrades in weapon and armor but the enemies can be overwhelming and players start the mode without a single extra life.

You can use expandable shields to wipe out the enemy waves but they only come as a bonus for rescuing people. Players are given the chance to fly a heavily upgraded ship in Protector mode but the massive number of enemies gunning for you still feels like your ship is under armed.
