NBA Rumors: Karl-Anthony Towns to Knicks, Willie Cauley-Stein to Lakers in Latest Mock Draft

The Kentucky Wildcats will be sending a record-setting seven underclassmen to the 2015 NBA Draft after coming close to perfection in their 2014-15 college basketball season campaign, multiple sources reported on Thursday.

Kentucky head coach and newly-inducted Hall of Famer John Calipari presented his latest batch of one-and-done product during Thursday's press conference in Lexington, Kentucky. As expected, projected no.1 overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns announced his decision to jump in to the pro league along with Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles, Devin Booker, Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison and Dakari Johnson.

Based on the latest mock draft boards, Towns has already dislodged Duke's center Jahill Okafor for the no.1 overall spot in the draft class, while Cauley-Stein, Lyles and Booker are expected to be selected in the first round. On the other hand, the Harrison twins are believed to be second-round selections, a possible placing the talented but still raw Johnson may end up as well.

The New York Knicks, having the biggest chance in landing the no.1 overall pick in the lottery, have been rumored interested in using their top pick for a crafty big man like Towns. The Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic and the Philadelphia 76ers have been stacking up young talents the past three years, while the Los Angeles Lakers may prefer a rim protector/defender in Cauley-Stein to bolster their defense.

The Wildcats roared to the top of college basketball after dismantling every opponent on their way. Done on sweeping the regular-season and the SEC tournament, Kentucky entered into the National Tournament as the prohibitive favorites to win it all in the Final Four.

However, their dream of equaling the feat of the 1976 Indiana team came crashing before their very eyes, as the Wisconsin Badgers leaned on their experience to beat the uber-talented but still inexperienced Wildcats in Indianapolis.
