In Meadowland, Olivia Wilde plays a mom whose son goes missing and she recently shared to People that she would not have been able to play the role as well as she did if she was not a mother herself.

The 31-year old actress told People at the film's Tribeca Film Festival premiere last Friday in New York City, "I think anyone who becomes a parent, their heart expands, and you empathize on a different level," which she thought was what was required of her to be able to tell the story well.

Olivia and her fiancé, funny man Jason Sudeikis, welcomed their son whom they named Otis Alexander in April last year. He will celebrate his first birthday on Monday, April 20.

The Tron actress admitted that she would not have been able to play the character of Sarah well if she was not a mother. Describing it as a "gift of motherhood," she added that being a parent makes one better in touch with the various levels of emotions.

On top of starring opposite Luke Wilson in the new drama, Olivia was also a co-producer of the movie. And with so many more projects lined up for her, how does she juggle being a hands-on mom, a bride-to-be and an actress?

Olivia simply explained that she feels extremely supported and really lucky that she's working on good things, before saying that there are people who are managing a lot more complicated lives than her.

Olivia, who's currently taking a much-deserved break from work, and Jason made the movie's after-party their date night. The gorgeous couple, who had their own respective projects premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, both sipped on some cocktails as they spent the rest of their night at rooftop lounge of the Dream Downtown's hotel.
