After Bobby Brown's statement two days ago that his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 22, has awakened, the grandmother, Cissy Houston, released a statement to the press  after visiting her granddaughter.  She said in her statement that Bobbi is no longer in a state of coma but rather has brain damage and it is "irreversible." This comes two days after Bobby Brown made a statement that his daughter was "awake."

According to Cissy's statement, doctors said that Bobbi Kristina, who has a tracheotomy, has "global and irreversible brain damage" and that she remains in coma. Cissy said that it saddens her that Bobbi Kristina may be living in this state for a lifetime and that they are trusting God for a miracle at this time.

On January 31, Bobbi Kristina, the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, was moved from Emory University Hospital to DeKalb Medical Center, has remained in the same neurological state for nearly three months.   She has remained unconscious and does not respond to voices and people moving around her room.

Bobbi was placed under a medically-induced coma after being found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Georgia home on January 31.  She has been in a medically-induced coma ever since.  Her mother, Whitney Houston, who died in 2012, was also found in a bathtub.

The grandmother's statement came after the emotionally tired father, Bobby told fans at a concert on Saturday that his daughter was awake and watching him.   After Bobby's statement at the concert made the headlines, Tina, Brown's sister posted on Facebook that her niece was no longer in a coma.  Then Brown's attorney Christopher Brown released a statement saying that Bobbi Kristina's condition has changed since moving from Emory University Hospital and that there has been some improvement.  He continued to say that Bobbi is currently undergoing rehabilitation and that quality of life will yet to unfold in years to come.
