Several Native American actors left the set of funny man Adam Sandler's new movie project over racist jokes and stereotyping.

One of the actors, Loren Anthony, confirmed to The Associated Press, that he, as well as eight other actors decided to leave the production of Adam's new Netflix project, a satirical Western movie, entitled "The Ridiculous Six," after producers failed to acknowledge their concerns regarding the way the film plans to portray the Apache culture.

From the beginning, Loren, a Navajo actor who started working as an extra last Monday, said that "it did not feel right," though they let it go. However, the moment they learned more about the script, they felt that it was "totally disrespectful to Native women and elders."

Loren revealed that the script gave Native American female characters insulting labels and names such as "Beaver's Breath" and "No Bra," and added that there was even a scene where a Native American woman pees while smoking a peace pipe.

He told Indian Country Today Media Network that they were treated as if they "should just be on the side." Though they voiced out their apprehensions to the main director, Loren said that he simply explained that the disrespect or the insult wasn't intentional and reminded them that the movie is a comedy.

"The Ridiculous Six" spoofs the highly-rated "The Magnificent Seven" and Adam's first movie project in a four-movie deal he currently has with Netflix.

Asked about the issue, Netflix said in a statement to The Associated Press that they included the word "ridiculous" in the movie's title for a reason, which is that it's a satire of Western films, as well as the stereotypes that these movies helped promote, featuring a wide range of cast "that is in on the joke."

Actors leading the movie are Steve Buscemi, Terry Crews, Taylor Lautner, Vanilla Ice and Will Forte. Its script was penned by Tim Herliby and Adam himself, and directed by Frank Coraci.
