Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon has been chosen to record the audio book version of Harper Lee's highly anticipated new book, "Go Set a Watchman." It had been scheduled to be released on July 14, according to the book's publisher.

HarperAudio's senior director, Sean McManus, described the release of Pulitzer Prize-winner Harper Lee's, Watchman, as the "literary event of the year" then continued to praise Reese by explaining that her southern roots, as well as her extraordinary talent are what make the actress the most suitable and perfect person to narrate the story.

In the same statement Sean released, he said that the audiobook is fated to turn into one of the classics, which joins the audio version of the award-winning "To Kill a Mockingbird" in the ranks.

Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actress Sissy Spacek, who played the title character in "Carrie," was the one who narrated Harper's famous novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird."

Reese also issued a statement and expressed that she is extremely honored to give her voice to the characters who, she said inspired her when she was little.

As someone from the South, the 39-year old actress said that it is both a privilege and an honor to lend her voice to characters such as Atticus Finch and Scout Finch, whom she credits for making her fall in love with reading. The actress added that she is excited for the readers to be brought to into one of American history's pivotal times in a way "that only Harper Lee's gorgeous prose can deliver."

The 88-year old novelist from Monroeville, Alabama, got fans super excited when she unexpectedly announced that she found her Go Set a Watchman's manuscript, a book that she actually wrote back in the 1950s before Mockingbird.

In the upcoming prequel novel, Harper said in an official statement that the main protagonist in Mockingbird, Scout, comes back to Maycomb to see her father, Atticus. She then becomes forced to come to terms with both political and personal issues, as she struggles to comprehend her own father's attitude towards society, as well as her own emotions about the home where she spent a lot of her childhood.
