As Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino spent their last few days relishing their final memories on the set of "The Vampire Diaries," the duo decided to team up to make a heartfelt thank-you-and-goodbye video for their fans. To make matters less emotional and to effectively send their fans crying and laughing at the same time, Dobrev and Trevino decided to insert silliness into it and sounded like little chipmunks!

Nina Dobrev, 26, who has played the famous role of lead character Elena Gilbert captioned: "We were just kids when we started the show," "And we still are, 6 years later." Dobrev has spent the past couple of weeks posting photos as she spends her last moments on the Vampire Diaries set. Michael Trevino, 30, posted on Instagram: "That a series wrap for Elena & Tyler!!! It's been an incredible 6 years you guys. Thanks for sticking with us. We love you all! #TVD."

Nina also posted her heartfelt sentiment on Instagram: "I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there's still so much more to come before the season finale in May. Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I'll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever."

While there were previous rumors that Nina Dobrev's reason for leaving the beloved series was because she has had enough of dealing with ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, whom Nina has dated for two years before their split in 2013, and his wife Nikki Reed, Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino are leaving "The Vampire Diaries" due to bigger and better opportunities. On this, fans claim that they are indeed happy and excited to see what the future holds for the co-stars.
