RHOBH's Kim Richards Finally Decides to Check Into Rehab

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has finally decided to enter rehab.

As reported by TMZ, Kim checked herself into a Malibu facility, which specializes in substance abuse. The 50-year old actress was reported to have finally relented after she consulted with her family.

The news website claimed that Kim intends to stay and live in the facility for as long as needed. Her decision comes after a tense and distressing two weeks, which saw her handcuffed and arrested at The Beverly Hills Hotel when she drunkenly fought and resisted a police officer.

She, together with her family, sat down for an interview with Dr. Phil, but she walked out after she felt pressured by the questions. On Thursday, details about what actually happened during her interview, which airs on Tuesday, surfaced.

Kim admitted that she is indeed struggling to be sober. "I poured a drink of vodka and thought 'Oh my God, what have I done?'" she said.

Dr. Phil then asked her if she has been living a lie making everyone believe that she's been sober for three years and recalled her drunken fight with a cop at the bar, which he says is "not good mothering."

Kim, who wore a bright red blouse, looked surprised and asked if the interview was an intervention, before saying, "I'm sorry I can't, I'm sorry." The reality star then took off her microphone and left the room.

Also present during her interview to support Kim were her children, 29-year old Brooke, 22-year old Chad and 20-year old Kimberly. Her other daughter, 23-year old Whitney, was not present.

Kim was arrested at the Beverly Hills Hotel earlier last week and was charged with trespassing, public intoxication, battery on a police officer and resisting an officer after getting into a drunken incident.

Last Wednesday, the Daily Mail reported that Kim was in tears when she left the interview and that Chad was heard seriously talking to his mom, asking her to check herself into rehab. The young man revealed that aside from drinking, his mom has also been smoking weed and taking pills.

A source revealed to Daily Mail Online that though she agreed to go into rehab, the program should be able to adjust to her needs, saying that she would not get treatment in another state, wanted a 30-day and not a 60-day treatment and would not miss the wedding of her daughter in May. She was also worried about Monty Brinson, her ex-husband and father of eldest child Brooke. Monty suffers from brain, spine and lung cancer and is leaning on her for support.

An observer said that Kim was extremely angry when she left the interview and was heard telling her daughter that she's not going to go to rehab because she wouldn't want to miss her wedding. Brooke, however, pleaded and told her mom to get the help she needs.

"You have to do this mom," she said.
