Lambert said that maybe the reason why he had those experiences was the fact that the entertainment industry is dominated by males whether in music or in acting.  This is also probably why those men are not coming out of the closet to reveal their sexuality.

Lambert, became known when he made it as runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol.  In 2009, his debut album "For Your Entertainment" made it at number three on the US Billboard.   He is new album, "The Original High" will be released on June 16.

In a previous interview, Lambert said that he believes the music industry is now less homophobic than it used to and commented that the industry is quickly changing the way society is becoming more open-minded.   He also said he is greatly "thrilled" that in these times, the playing field is more level.

Lambert admitted that the first time he slept with a woman was when he was 29 and described the experience as "random" and "great."  He goes on to say that women are generally beautiful but that he is more drawn to confident women.

Lambert, who has been performing with the band Queen as an occasional stand-in for Freddie Mercury, is known for his theatrical androgynous performances and wide-ranging skilled voice.

He was nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in the 2011 Grammy Awards and was given an Honorary GLAAD Media Award in 2013.  The Times acknowledged Lambert to be the first openly gay pop artist whose career was launched with a major U.S. label.
