The event, organized by Tunisia's national tourism office, featured a parade of Star Wars characters before screenings of the films. Tunisia was one of the filming locations for the movies.

In a poll that compared potential 2016 presidential candidates with fictional characters of the movie series "Star Wars," Darth Vader had a higher net approval rating over leading Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, according to the.

Darth Vader, is the Sith Lord in the hugely popular movie franchise. In the movie, he has killed numerous young fledgling Jedi, cut off his son's hand, executed his own superiors and helped blow up a planet. Despite his anti-hero character, Darth Vader still remains more popular than the leading 2016 U.S. presidential candidate.

Of the total number of respondents,  58 percent had a favorable view of the Dark Lord of the Sith, while 30 percent had a negative view, 10 percent were neutral and 1 percent was unfamiliar. Vader's net approval ratings are 28 percent.

The results were of a poll conducted by FiveThirtyEight on the favourability of various Star Wars characters, and picked be the Washington Post which did the presidential hopeful survey.

Hillary Clinton has the highest net favorability on any potential 2016 presidential candidate. However, her 19 percent net approval rating is still nine points below the Dark Lord's. Clinton is currently tied with the cloned bounty hunter, Boba Fett, who froze Harrison Ford's character, Han Solo, in carbonite.

None of the 2016 White House contenders are polling higher than Vader. He killed defenseless children who trusted him and destroyed an entire world but, evidently in the eyes of the American people, these are minor crimes compared to Benghazi and Bridgegate.

The poll suggests that if "Star Wars" was real and Vader chose to become a candidate, he would be the instant front-runner.

Meanwhile, the current leader of the United States of America, President Barack Obama, is just two points away below Emperor Palpatine.  Obama, the president who passed healthcare reform, ended the war in Iraq and eliminated Osama Bin Laden is below the actual personification of evil in the galaxy of "Star Wars."

Of all the fictional characters, Jedi knight Luke Skywalker, scoundrel Han Solo and master Yoda have the highest ratings. The highest rated among the real people are former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Rep. Rand Paul.

The lowest rated in the fictional world was Jar Jar Binks with a net approval rating of -8 and in the real world, Congress with over -60.
