Chris Brown Wanted For Alleged Battery In Vegas

R&B singer Chris Brown is wanted by the Las Vegas police for an alleged fight during a pickup basketball game.  While Brown was in Vegas performing at the Drai's Beach Club on Tuesday, he denied his involvement in the fight. According to his managers, the incident was just about an unruly individual showing up uninvited and had to be asked to leave the premises.

According to police, Brown was playing basketball hoops at 3 a.m. Monday at the Hardwood Suite when he got into an argument with someone and allegedly hit him. When the victim was about to defend himself, he was punched again by someone who was believed to be with Brown. The victim was taken to the Sunrise Hospital for treatment and was released on Monday morning.

The Clark County Justice Court summoned Brown to appear and choose to either sign a citation for misdemeanor battery and show up in court or let the District Attorney decide whether or not to file charges. Brown has not yet responded.

Nicole Perna, Brown's publicist, however denied the singer's involvement in the incident. He said that Brown is currently in Las Vegas for a performance at Drai's on May 5.

On February 2009, Brown turned himself  to the Los Angeles Police Department's Wilshire station for physical violence against his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna which left her with visible facial injuries that required hospitalization. He was booked under suspicion of making criminal threats. In June 2009, the singer pleaded guilty and was given a sentence of community labor, five years of formal probation, and counselling on domestic violence.   He was also given a five-year restraining that required him to stay 50 yards away from Rihanna and 10 yards during public events.

Brown was released last June after serving 3½ months for a parole violation stemming from his 2009 guilty plea to felony assault on Rihanna.  According to the Los Angeles Times, Brown is still on probation and has to complete his community service.  He is also to stay off marijuana. Court documents reveal that Brown has bipolar disorder.
