A male Chinese driver was caught on camera furiously beating a female driver after intercepting her car. The viral video shows the man fishing out the female driver out of her car and dragging and kicking her.

The male driver, who identified himself only by his surname Zhang, rationalized his act by saying that he was only provoked to do it since the female driver dashed in front of his lane. He added that the incident caused distress to his child who was in the passenger seat.

Lu, the surname of the female driver beaten by Zhang in the viral video, was immediately rushed to the hospital and was found to have suffered bone fractures on her shoulder along with a head injury.

Initially, when the first dashboard video of Zhang beating up Lu was released, most of the public's sympathy was towards Lu. It was uploaded on social media websites such as Facebook and Youtube and it garnered criticism towards Zhang.

A netizen commented after watching the viral video, saying Zhang was somebody who has shown complete disrespect to women and that he should maintain his composure even when driving.

However, a second video surfaced --- one taken from Zhang's dashboard several minutes before Zhang's violent action against Lu. In that viral video, Lu's car can be seen swerving dangerously into Zhang's lane and any glitch could have resulted into a fatal car crash.

Most who have seen the viral video describe Lu as "someone who poses a great danger to public" and she should not receive any sympathy because she violated traffic rules. Another commented that the praise should be for Zhang beating Lu and she certainly deserves to be attacked.

Zhang was taken into custody by police for causing trouble towards the other driver. He may face a sentence of up to five years in prison. He made a public apology to Lu through an aired footage in Chengdu broadcasting.

Zhang expressed his remorse for what he did and since it was an impulsive act, it caused harm to Lu and her family. Zhang pleaded awareness to other young drivers not to follow his example.

Lu is also not absolved from the incident despite being the victim of the attack in the viral video. She will face a penalty of a three-point deduction on a 12-point driving record for traffic rule violation and a fine of CNY100.
