The Tiens Group employees are expected to shell out €13 million (£9.5 million) on their food, lodging, and tours around Paris and Nice. Their itinerary includes a cabaret show at the Moulin Rouge and a private tour of the Louvre museum.

Last Friday, the Tiens Group vacationers were picked up by 147 buses from their hotels and were taken to the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. There, Li Jinyuan's employees broke the record for the longest human-made phrase by forming the words "Tiens' dream is Nice in the Cote d'Azur," the report detailed.

"We have have mobilised public services as well as tourism professionals, hotels, restaurants, shops and designer brands," said Christian Mantel, head of Atout France, a tourism development agency. "So far everything has gone smoothly, the feedback has been extremely positive."

Li Jinyuan, who formed Tiens Group in 1995, was included in Forbes' list of the world's billionaires in 1991. The firm, which employs 12,000 workers, is involved in biotechnology, logistics, property, tourism finance, and retail.

Half of Li Jinyuan's 12,000 staff in Tiens Group flew to France to commemorate the Chinese firms' 20th anniversary.

China's overseas tourism has peaked since because of the country's more lenient international travel policies and booming economy. Because of these things, the nation's middle class has been more eager and more able to travel abroad.

In 2014 alone, around 107 million Chinese tourists traveled overseas.

The Bank of America/Merrill Lynch released a report revealing that Chinese tourists currently spend USD$164 billion each year. This amount is expected to reach US$264 billion in four years, the report relayed.

However, China's booming overseas tourism does not come without a setback. The country has been repeatedly plagued with issues of Chinese tourists behaving badly abroad and tarnishing China's reputation by vandalizing ancient establishments and showing disrespect towards flight staff.

In connection with this, the Chinese government has been taking several steps to address the issue and clean up the mess.

Looking at Li Jinyuan's vacation gift for his Tiens Group employees, a lot Chinese netizens have expressed concern over the potential damage that such a large tour group may inflict on China's image abroad.
