'30 Rock' star Alex Baldwin told presiding judge John Delury that he'd rather pay fines over his conduct when caught riding his bike in the wrong lane and acting aggressive towards a police officer than to apologize.

The 56-year old actor was busted for riding his bike against traffic on Fifth Avenue last May 13 and was said to have acted belligerent, rude and condescending while inside the 13th Precinct stationhouse.

The actor reportedly said, "How old are these officers? They don't even know who I am," further supporting claims of his rather disdainful behavior.

"Can you stay out of trouble, Alexander?" asked Judge John Delury, addressing the actor with his real name to which he responded, "Sure, sure."

Alec Baldwin was mandated to behave well for six months until January 24 next year so that the charges against him would be dropped, a common result of violations as such.

However, the actor hurled another jab on his Twitter account, saying, "NY City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign."

While negotiating his case with the judge, Baldwin offered three times for his case to be resolved by paying fines, but the judge said that he was just requiring an apology.

The actor refused saying, "I'd rather pay a fine."

The Manhattan judge struck up small talk with the actor while reading through the charges filed against him particularly that of the movie 'Hunt for Red October.'

He also commented on the actor, referring to him as someone with "a short fuse," adding that the allegations against Baldwin were violations and not crimes.

The actor has earned a bad reputation stemming from his behavior and way of speaking. Back in 2007, he was under the lens again due to a leaked voicemail of him scolding his daughter Ireland Baldwin which he later regretted and found horrifying.

In 2011, he was kicked out of a plane for refusing to stop playing a mobile game. Furthermore, he has several untoward encounters with news photographers and was subjected under fire after using anti-gay slurs that resulted to his suspension from his MSNBC show.

As for the recent case he is facing, Judge Delury dismissed it and sent the actor on his way.
