The "Baby" crooner is doing his best to catch the attention of his ex, Selena Gomez, and he is doing so by showering her with sweet text messages. Gomez however is being extremely careful about giving in to her former boyfriend, according to reports on HollywoodLife.

Rumors doing rounds hint that Bieber is dating reality star and Selena's former friend, Kendall Jenner. But that's not all, Gomez's bad boy ex is also rumored to be dating Hailey Baldwin.

As Bieber is texting her up with flowery compliments, the 22-year-old singer is not allowing herself to be a fool for love again. A source close to the situation told HollywoodLife that even Bieber tells Gomez he seriously wants to see her soon; she is playing hard to get. It is said that Selena is one smart cookie.

In the wake of rumors constantly swirling about his relationship with Jenner, Gomez is not the only one affected. Baldwin, who has been reportedly dating Bieber for the past few months, is jealous about dating rumors surrounding Biebs and Jenner, Inquisitr noted.

Since they spoke at the Met Ball, Gomez has been getting texts from Bieber, who said Gomez looked "gorgeous" at the Met Gala.

According to a source, Bieber texted Gomez that night, saying she looked very beautiful. He even wrote that he wants to see her when she gets back to LA. While resisting the charm of Bieber may seem impossible, Gomez has found incredible amount of willpower within herself.

The source said that Gomez has kept her replies simple and sweet and she is not getting her hopes up. She is not reading too much into it. The source adds that the singer is letting Bieber do the work and will be the one in the end who decides if they will actually will meet in person. It is just awkward and annoying for her as deep down inside, she knows that avoiding Biebs is probably the best choice, the insider says.
