Apple to Spotify: Enjoy It While It Lasts

The tech giant will soon relaunch Beats, and by doing so, they intend to shut down the operations of competitors that offer a constant threat to their revenue-making tactics, such as Spotify.

Spotify is currently the biggest music streaming service, with no less than 60 millions users each month. However, according to The Daily Beast, only 25 percent of the said subscribers shell out money for a paid service, thus making the streaming giant rely on paid advertisements. Apple has never been keen on giving out free stuff, so they will try to hit their competitor by trying to get the upper hand that they can control: the music labels.

The iPhone user does have a certain charm to it: currently, major credit card companies and retail store owners are now allowing Apple Pay, and in the past, it has convinced music labels to release MP3 downloads. The biggest hurdle for Apple, according to TechTimes, is convincing the said labels on something that will further decrease their revenue.

Even Youtube was caught in the crosshairs of Apple. The tech giant is offering to pay the licensing fee of the music giant to Universal Music Group, given that they stop allowing their songs on Youtube, The Verge reported. If the labels agree to the demands of Apple, the free services of Spotify will crumble, and they will be in a great position to grab the music industry by the balls, as they are slated to release their own streaming service that, obviously, will come at a price.

From computers to smartphones, Apple has always been at the front end of the tech industry. Despite killing off the iPod, it's a good thing that they are starting to look back at the industry that propelled them to world consciousness, and if they succeed, they will take the music industry by storm.
