Nepal is once again hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4, just two weeks after a major earthquake killed thousands of people.

According to reports of the BBC, the latest earthquake to hit was near the town of Namche Bazar, within close proximity to Mount Everest. Tremors were felt in the capital of Kathmandu, which propelled the people out of their houses and into the streets in a fit of fear and dread, some of them still not having recovered from the first quake.

Nepal was recently devastated by a 7.8 earthquake on April 25, which hit western Nepal and killed more than 8,000 people, injured 17,000, and annihiliated thousands of homes.

The shockwave was also felt in Dhaka and Delhi, the capital cities of Bangladesh and India, respectively, where buildings swayed and more people feared for their lives.

Moreover, the quake was felt near the base camp of Mount Everest, and as The Guardian reported, it was quickly evacuated because of avalanche scares. The first earthquake caused an avalanche that killed an estimated 18 mountaineers and expeditioners.

According to the US Geological Survey, this latest quake scare struck 83 kilometers or 52 miles from Kathmandu at a depth of 18.5 kilometers and striked 12:35 local time.

Despite no immediate reports of damage or casualties, residents were wary of the dangers after the events that occurred during the first wave. Reuters even reported that Everest season for this year has officially been called off because of panic.

The country of Nepal has yet to recover from the recent events of the initial earthquake despite the inflow of aid coming in from all over the world.
