‘Mortal Kombat X’ News: Jason Voorhees Unmasked; Rain Rumors; Kotal Khan Scale Models

After its successful release to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Apr. 14, "Mortal Kombat X" has received several updates, mods and downloadable contents.

One of the latest mods to hit the "Mortal Kombat X" community is the unmasked face of murderer Jason Voorhees. The face of Jason Voorhees has never been revealed in any fighting game but a latest mod called Camera Hack manage to uncover the face behind the hockey mask. The Camera Hack is being developed for the PC version of the game, according to Gamespot.

Jason Voorhess is one of the playable character in the "Mortal Kombat X" game and can be acquired through the game's DLC. Jason's face was completely remodeled in the game and doesn't look like the disfigured face as presented in the movies.

Ed Boon, creator of "Mortal Kombat," recently teased fans when he posted a poster for a Broadway show entitled "Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles." He then added a message, "Hmmmm. I do love the Beatles." Nominal fans of the fighting game might not get the reference but for long-time fans they would understand that Boon is not just referring to the legendary British band but also to one of "Mortal Kombat's" iconic character, Rain.

Rain first appeared as a playable character in "Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3" in 1995. The character was also released as a downloadable character in the 2011 reboot "Mortal Kombat." NetherRealm Studios, the developer of "Mortal Kombat X," has yet to confirm if Rain will be included as a playable character.

However, an avid modder using the name XVermillion was able to unlock Rain as well as other characters including Baraka and Sindel by opening the games source code. The modder was also able unlock their character abilities, according to Christian Today.

A 1:4 scale model statue of Kotal Khan, one of the playable character in "Mortal Kombat X," was recently released by Pop Culture Shock. The model will be available in three variants; Sun God, Blood God, and War God with prices r$425, $435 and $445 respectively.

All the statue variants are estimated to be shipped on May 17, 2016. However, reports confirm that pre-order will start on May 18 at 3 PM Pacific Time.
