Space exploration has been the most discussed topics over the years and has helped power through the research for technological advancement. NASA is the pioneer in this regard and has proven its worth over the years. Continuing the tradition of drawing out technological targets for a particular year the agency has rolled out targets for the year 2015.

They would help facilitate the achievement of various aeronautics, human and science exploration missions for the next 20 years, which is all set to include the Mars mission for the agency.

Reports by The Space Reporter indicate that the roadmap for 2015 is an update over the 2012 plan which was put forth subsequent to the 14 agenda roadmap of 2010. The present day roadmap not only captures the essence of the previous plans, but also provides initiatives for creating new partnerships for further technological development, which is all set to power through the Mars Exploration Project. The plan also proposes for Streamlining Technological Development through the Strategic Technological Investment Plan.

It also puts into place a mechanism to prevent duplication of projects, supporting missions and to reduce costs for the same by using a web-based tool known as TechPort.

Geek Snack seems to hint that the most exciting endeavor of the roadmap is the provision of clauses, which seek to work on improvements in nanomaterials, nuclear fission and fusion plus quantum cryptography.

However, the best development would be the development of propulsion system based on anti-matter. Though the plan doe no't provide any clear vision on this front yet, when other space agencies shy away from the mention of antimatter, it is indeed impressive that NASA has mentioned about conducting research in this domain, said reports.

It is said that the roadmap points to big developments in Space Technology in the coming years.
