On Monday, May 11, the new Surface 3 tablet received an update that helped large organizations deploy the tablets across their staff. According to the tech giant, the unnamed update will assist its "customers intending to do mass deployments into larger organizations."

To sum things up, the update brings the Surface 3 to uniformity, in terms of enterprise control to its older but more expensive sibling the Surface Pro 3, according to a Microsoft blog post.

Contrary to what it looked like, the Surface 3 wasn't essentially a consumer play, generally aimed at students. According to TechCrunch, the Surface 3 was a nearly pure business push-through, which Microsoft plans to open the door to enterprise for its smaller, cheaper device. For all we know, the focus could be education; however, that environment does not have the same control need as larger companies.

Microsoft expects the Surface 3 to be accretive in terms of units sold when stacked with the Pro 3.

In a related Surface 3 news, Microsoft Community Moderator and Microsoft MVP Barb Bowman urged Surface 3 users to not try to install Window 10 on their devices as there are no drivers for the Intel x5/x7 Atom processors.

Bowman explained that there are no drivers in the Preview Build as Intel has not yet provided drivers. The warning however does not apply to Microsoft's new Surface 3 tablet, which Bowman guaranteed could handle Windows 10 just fine.

The release is exclusively available through the download center.
