The 72-year old icon narrated that Johnny Rockets is one of her favorite restaurants to eat at and that she was hankering for some good chow after performing at her concert in nearby Lewiston, New York.

Franklin said that she went to the restaurant with her nephew and ordered her usual meal - a hamburger and cherry coke - to go. She then sat at one of the restaurant's empty tables to wait for her order.

According to Franklin, one of the restaurant's employees suddenly appeared and told her that she was not allowed to sit at the table.

"I said, 'Excuse me, what do you mean I can't sit here?" Franklin narrated.

To which the employee replied that only people who order in can seat at the table.

Franklin calmly replied that she would just eat her order at the restaurant.

The singer said she was shocked by the employees reply, who said "You can't have it here because we've already rang you up as a takeout customer."

What was more shocking and insulting was that the employee, who appeared to be in her mid-30s, ordered Franklin to stand outside the eatery and wait for her order. The eatery was located in a food court.

Franklin's nephew mentioned to the employee who his aunt is, but the worker said she didn't care.

Franklin shared that the employee shouldn't be rude to anyone - be it a celebrity or not.

"I got up and walked out. I said, 'You should eat it yourself and you pay for it,'" Franklin shared.

A spokeswoman for Johnny Rockets said that the franchise owner is sorry for the actions of "a new and very young employee" and that the employee has been spoken with regarding takeout policies.
