People's Liberation Army (PLA) Daily, the official mouthpiece of the military of China, said that the use of wearable high-tech gadgets should be considered a violation, according to Yahoo News. "The use of watches that have internet access, location information, and telephone conversation functions should be considered a violation of secrecy regulations at army barracks," PLA Daily said.

PLA Daily warned against the wearable gadgets after a recruit was caught making an attempt to take photographs of China's military troops. Moreover, PLA Daily said that the use of wearable high-tech gadgets should be considered a violation of secrecy regulations at army barracks. "The use of watches that have internet access, location information, and telephone conversation functions should be considered a violation of secrecy regulations at army barracks," PLA Daily said.

Aside from watches that employ high technology, PLA Daily also included smartphones and high-tech spectacles as the China could be possibly tracked, which would endanger military security. "When officers and men put on these type of spectacles, it is extremely possible that army positions can be tracked, endangering the security of military operations," PLA Daily said.

According to the report, it did not say that the smarwatch, which was a birthday present, was an Apple smartwatch. Furthermore, the report did not specifically name that the high-tech gadgets they were referring include Google Glass, according to DefenseNews.

China is a victim of hacking according to China's foreign ministry in Beijing, DefenseNews reported. The foreign ministry added that China has supported its new anti-terror law which says that technology firms and companies in U.S. should pass U.S. encryption keys before doing business in their country, the report added.
