Apple Delays HomeKit Launch; Home Platform May Launch On September

In a move that has disappointed Apple followers globally, the technology giant has moved the release date of its state of the art home platform from June-July to late August-September. As per Fortune, this home platform christened as HomeKit is all set to be used to access devices like door locks, lights etc.

Even though Apple had never formally announced any launch date for this platform, its partners hinted at the possibility of the platform being launched in time for Father's Day at the Annual Consumer Electronics Trade Show. However, sources hint at the possibility of a formal announcement by the technology giant at the Worldwide Developer Conference next month.

It was also added that Apple was struggling to stabilize some aspects of the platform till date. Moreover, another source remarked that this delay was due to the shrinking process being run on the humongous source code even for small battery powered devices.

Although Apple has not divulged the details of this project yet, and all the information has been accumulated via the various sources and platforms of the company, yet experts expect HomeKit to use Siri, Apple's voice recognition software to provide access to its users.

It is said that this platform has been available in the iOS8 update since it was rolled out though it was not of much use yet as the devices who are supposed to use HomeKit were provided with compatible applications.

Reports said that its release will always trigger Skepticism by consumers who believe that if a smart phone is to power the smartness of the house then how come security monitoring would be possible once the owner leaves.

In other news, Apple has filed a new patent for its innovative Touch ID system, which can react on how a finger is used to press the button.
