Apple Set To Release iOS 9 On Upcoming WWDC

Apple enthusiast are now marking their calendars as the tech giant is poised to unveil its latest operating system, iOS 9, in the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8.

The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is one of the major events where Apple presents some of its most popular products and devices. This year's event is no exception as the tech giant is preparing the stage for the unveiling of its highly-anticipated update to the iOS operating system.

iOS 8 was launched in September 2014 and since then, the operating system has received minor patches and updates. The latest update launched by Apple was iOS 8.4 released on May 11.

Despite regular updates and patches, Apple has yet to address many of iOS 8's problems. Most notable of these unsolved issues are the battery power problem and the iPhone's wireless connections, according to Press and Update.

Aside from the upcoming release of iOS 9, many Apple fans are also expecting updates for several Apple devices including the recently released Apple Watch, according to Gotta Be Mobile. The report added that Apple will be simultaneously rolling out the iOS update on all of its supported platform including the iPad and iPad touch. Rumors claim that an update for OS X is also prepped to be released on the upcoming Apple event.

According to Ars Technica, it is also time for Apple to upgrade its digital assistant "Siri." The feature was first launched along with iOS 5 and since then it has not receive any major update aside from regular patches for detected bugs.

Another feature that many Apple users are expecting with the upcoming release of iOS 9 is the revival of the Map app. This feature was removed when iOS 6 was released and many industry experts are urging Apple to re-release the feature back. Currently, Apple depends on third party companies to provide its users with the all-important Map feature.
