Danny Boyle's 'Steve Jobs' Teaser Released

Universal Pictures recently released a teaser trailer for the upcoming film "Steve Jobs," which stars Michael Fassbender in the titular role.

As listed by Tech Crunch, alongside the "X-Men" star are Seth Rogen who will play the partner of Jobs, Steve Wozniak, Kate Winslet as original Macintosh and NeXT member Joanna Hoffman, and Jeff Daniels as former Apple President, John Scully.

The trailer paints Steve Jobs as an innovator, even hearing the voice-over of Woz as saying, "No one sees the world the same way you do." Geek Tyrant described how Fassbender disappeared in the role, and that's just with the trailer.

The star-studded movie is directed by Danny Boyle, who is also known for "Trainspotting," the Indian movie "Slumdog Millionaire," and more recently, "127 Hours." Alongside the great director is the equally great Aaron Sorkin, who penned the screenplay. Sorkin is best known for "The Social Network," "Moneyball," and "The Newsroom."

The movie is said to focus on three important launches in the life of Apple, and coincidentally, Steve Jobs: the original Mac, the NeXT Computer, and the iPod. According to Mac Rumors, Sorkin has always avoided the typical "cradle-to-grave" structure of biopics, so it is to be expected that the movie will jump from one phase of Steve to another.

This counts as the second biopic of the great Apple founder, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 2011. The first one, entitled "Jobs," was directed by Joshua Michael Stern, and it starred Ashton Kutcher as the Apple innovator. The 2013 movie was lambasted for developing poor research. Even though it was beautifully shot and had great actors for each role, the biopic was thought to be shallow and lacked the essential moments on how an influential character like Steve Jobs transformed from tyrant to leader. Hopefully, the new movie will tell more about this transformation, perhaps even more.
