Hudson had been a part of the creative team of Bioware and Electronic Arts (EA) for more than 15 years, where he rose the ranks to eventually lead the development of some of the company's best and biggest games. His career began as a technical artist on "Neverwinter Nights," and his first project director role was on the critically acclaimed 2003 Game of the Year "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic."

Microsoft saw Hudson's exemplary career and passion for his trade. The Xbox Wire article wrote about him: "With a degree in Engineering and a passion for art and music, Casey applies a full-spectrum approach to his pursuit of delivering the most exciting and memorable entertainment experiences in the world."

As creative director, Hudson will be on the forefront of the HoloLens project. This gadget promises a revolution in gaming and media experience in general. Microsoft presents the HoloLens as "the first fully untethered, see-through holographic computer." It combines both virtual and real-time elements to deliver seamless integration into physical space for the ultimate interactive experience.

HoloLens features a wide array of high-tech hardware such as advanced optical projection systems, built-in speakers with spatial sound technology, and more computing power than the average laptop. This device takes "untethered" quite literally, as there are no external cameras, wiring, or even pc connection required.

When interviewed about his new position and project, Hudson had this to say: "[I]n addition to the privilege of working for Microsoft and Xbox, I am particularly excited about working on HoloLens. I was fortunate to try an early prototype of HoloLens before it was announced, and I was blown away by the technology and what it was already capable of."

The interview also revealed that Hudson has a deep passion for video games, be it in console or PC. He plays everything from hardcore blockbusters to relatively unknown indies. Outside the digital world, he works as a private pilot, where he enjoys a whole new world of risk and problem-solving opportunities.
