Juan Manuel Marquez has expressed his interest in having a second crack at Floyd Mayweather Jr. before he hangs his boxing gloves for good, a source close to the Marquez camp disclosed this week.

Marquez, who hasn't fought since his unanimous decision win over Mike Alvardo in May of last year, is reportedly willing to duke it out with Mayweather one more time.

According to his promoter Fernando Beltran, the four-division world champ isn't ruling out a return to the ring despite turning 42-years old in August, adding that they are receiving a lot of offers from several camps.

However, Marquez's agent stressed his client would consider fights that give him the opportunity to gauge up his skills against elite competition, and the same time, another shot at winning an elusive world championship at fifth weight class, which would make him the first Mexican to pull off such feat.

Beltran did not deny that Mayweather, who is coming off a legacy-cementing win against Manny Pacquiao last May 2, tops the list of boxers his client wants to fight. However, he also mentioned up-and-coming star and Britain's IBF welterweight champ Kell Brook as another potential opponent if he decides to enter the squared circle again.

"Obviously we would love to fight Mayweather because while they fought each other already, it took place under adverse condition and now things would be different, Beltran told ESPN Deportes via Boxing Scene. "But there's also a good chance we'll face Kell Brook, who's looking for a big fight in the United States. There are number of options at the weight."

Marquez is currently rehabilitating a knee injury that bothered him during his preparation for the fight with Alvarado and recurred in the last quarter of 2014.
