NBA Playoffs 2015: LeBron James Lifts Cavs to 2-0 East Finals Lead Over Hawks, 94-82

LeBron James almost had a triple-double with 30 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds in leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a commanding 2-0 series lead in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals series against the Atlanta Hawks, 94-82.

James just proved too much to handle for the Hawks and for DeMarre Carroll, who managed to play even after suffering a minor knee injury in the fourth quarter of Game 1 just two nights ago.

Point guard Kyrie Irving sat out the game because of his own recurring left knee injury, but his presence was hardly missed.

With two of the Big Three out, it is up to The Big One to step up.

James tore the game apart in the third quarter when he scored 11 points in a scintillating 30-17 attack to go up by 18 entering the final period, 84-66.

The Cavs backcourt tandem of Iman Shumpert and Matthew Dellavedova also contributed to the assault, nailing two three-pointers each in the pivotal quarter.

Atlanta just could not match Cleveland's firepower, and shot a dismal 32 percent from the field in the third canto.

It was Shumpert and Dellavedova's time to shine in Game 2, as they scored 16 and 11 points for the whole game respectively.

In Game 1, it was J.R. Smith who provided the assistance for LeBron, gunning 28 points with 8-of-12 three-point shooting.

LeBron's frontcourt partner Tristan Thompson showed dominance off the boards as he gathered 16 rebounds for the game. The Cavs have outrebounded the Hawks for the second straight game, 47-39.

With the win, Cleveland can finish off the series in Ohio as Games 3 and 4 will be held at the Quicken Loans Arena starting on Sunday.
