Amidst news that Kendall Jenner no longer wants to be part of the hit reality show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", the statuesque model said that the show hurt her career more than it helped it.

The 18-year old shared on the new issue of LOVE magazine that her family's reality show made it harder for her to get her start in the modelling world, stating that "people didn't take me seriously as a model."

Jenner might have become a recognizable face because of the reality show, but her success as a model was harder to achieve because of it.

She said that even though she is now walking the catwalk for big high-end brands such as Chanel and Givenchy, she found it very difficult to get gigs at the start.

Jenner narrated that people simply didn't like her because of her name and her affiliation with the reality show. She was always so grateful when people didn't recognize her. "I was like, 'Thank you. Please don't recognize me,'" she shared.

But having a low-key persona is no longer a part of Jenner's reality, especially with her significant social networking fame. Currently, the model has more than 8.4 million Twitter followers and 11 million Instagram followers.

Older sister Kim Kardashian also shared her insights on how difficult it was for Kendall to break into modelling but that thanks to Marc Jacobs, Kendall was able to make it big.

According to Kardashian, "Marc Jacobs gave her a real shot and treated her like any other model. He believed in her and opened the door for her...she has proven that she is the real deal."

Kardashian stated that Jenner is a hard worker and that she is so proud that her younger sibling has come a long way.

Kendall Jenner is the daughter of Kris Jenner and sports legend Bruce Jenner. Her sister Kylie is also a model.
