Boxing News: Kevin Johnson Taunts Anthony Joshua Before WBC International Heavyweight Title Fight

Kevin Johnson (29-6, 14 KOs), a veteran heavyweight fighter from the United States, taunted up and coming British star Anthony Joshua (12-0, 12 KOs) before their WBC International Heavyweight title fight to be held at The O2 in London, England on Saturday.

Johnson, also known as The Kingpin, said that the British sensation is just the product of a massive "media hype job" and at by the end of their fight, he will show everyone that the next face of boxing's heavyweight division will be him, as reported at SkySports News HQ.

"I've said it before, I've got the antidote for this guy," Johnson cited in the writeup. He also took a jab at the illustrious amateur background of Joshua, mentioning that not all great amateurs had great professional careers and he will show the people just that.

Joshua, a 2012 London Olympic boxing super heavyweight gold medalist, is unbeaten in his first twelve fights as a professional. All of his bouts ended in knockouts, with all of his opponents being floored within only three rounds.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound New Jersey native hopes to be Joshua's unlucky number thirteen, as he divulged that he is more prepared for this fight than the one he had with world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko.

According to an article from Boxing News Online, the veteran fighter said that his preparedness was just "60 percent for Vitali Klitschko", but he is much more ready at "100 percent for Anthony Joshua."

On the other hand, the 6-foot-6, 234-pound Watford-born fighter simply shrugged off Johnson's claims, according to an article written by Riath Al-Samarrai for Mailonline UK.

Joshua was firm about his game plan and asserted that it will not be affected by Johnson's remarks. He also admitted that he will take a generally conservative route against the 35-year-old boxer, acknowledging that The Kingpin "has never been stopped in a 36-bout career" even when going up against the likes of Klitschko and Tyson Fury.
