‘True Blood’ Actress Bares Fanged Comments Over Sarah Palin’s Remarks

Actress Kristin Bauer van Straten bared her fangs during the show's San Diego Comic Con panel on Saturday, saying Palin will "weigh in on anything."

"It's sweet many, many years later that I've made her angry. I had fun doing it," van Straten said.

The actress was hitting back at Palin after the former Republican vice presidential candidate slammed the show following an episode that showed a bloodbath during a fictional fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

The former Alaska governor was previously invited to cameo on the show, but she said she was glad she turned down the offer when she saw how "True Blood" portrays Republican women.

In the now-infamous episode, Pam Beaufort, a lead character of the show, was dressing for the fictional fundraising event when she said, "Oh my God, I'm a Republic*nt."

"The brilliant minds of 'True Blood' were brazen enough to ask me to do a cameo on their show, apparently so they could insult a conservative woman in person instead of just all conservative women in general," Palin told Breitbart News. "Their offer wasn't presented in any negative way, perhaps to benefit from a surprise factor after the guest appearance. I turned them down anyway."

Palin said that had she agreed to do a cameo, the show would have had the opportunity to insult a conservative woman in person, rather than all Republican women in general.

Ted Cruz also made his voice heard, saying the episode was "misogynist and profanity-ridden."

For van Straten, however, the Republican was simply dipping her hands on anything that she thinks is newsworthy.

The actress, who is an animal rights activist, said she also remembers Palin as the "wolf-killer lady," in reference to the former governor's pro-hunting stance.
