Early in the fourth quarter in Game 5 against the Houston Rockets, Thompson took a heavy blow from Trevor Ariza's knee, according to NBC Sports. It was a nasty hit and caused Thompson to drop on the floor before being forced into the locker room for further aid.

The replay shows that Thompson was hit hard and speculation of a concussion injury begun. Minor ear laceration was the initial diagnosis released by the Warrior's medical team. However, several reports said that Thompson was vomiting after the game and some of his teammates described his actions to be "concussion-like symptoms."

A report submitted by the Warrior's medical team showed that Thompson sustained a laceration on his right ear and received three stiches. The laceration was not that bad that the medical team allowed Thompson to play the remaining minutes of the game.

Latest news about Thompson's status showed that he was able to clear the first of a series of tests to determine if he is suffering from concussion. Despite the showing positive signs of recovery and as part of the concussion protocol, a neurologist need to take a look at Thompson before a final diagnosis of his current condition can be made, according to USA Today.

Thompson was drafted by the Warriors in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft. He and teammate Stephen Curry has set an NBA record for most combined three-pointers in a single season with 484, this led many sports analysts to dub the duo as Splash Brothers.

For this year's NBA Playoff Season, Thompson has started in all 15 games of the Warriors. According to basketball-reference.com, the three-year veteran is averaging 19.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
